“Al principio, Telefónica y muchos operadores de televisión de pago veían a Netflix como una amenaza para la televisión de pago, canibalizando sus paquetes de películas y series”, dijo María Rua Aguete, directora ejecutiva de tecnología, medios y telecomunicaciones de IHS Markit.

Y añadió: “Cinco años después, hay una conciencia generalizada de que eso no es así. Telefónica, como empresa de telecomunicaciones, obtiene ingresos no sólo del vídeo, sino también de la banda ancha, la telefonía y el móvil.  Para ellos, Netflix representa otro canal con películas y series que los consumidores quieren ver”.
